Outfit Of The Week 3/16/25 – 3/22/25

This week’s edition of “OOTW” features an outfit I wore twice this week. I wore it once on St. Patrick’s Day and again on Tuesday.

Is wearing the exact same outfit (minus undies and socks) weird? Not at all. After all, I wasn’t doing anything strenuous once I was showered and dressed after my morning workout, so my clothes weren’t getting sweaty or soiled. And clothes really don’t need to be washed as often as you think they do.
I wear pants over and over again between washes. Same thing with button-front shirts like flannels and OCBDs. They’re often not sitting directly against my skin anyway due to undershirts.
And sweaters? Forget about it! I NEVER wash those. It’s been ages since I got any of my sweaters cleaned. They just don’t need it. If something is made of wool, it hardly ever needs to be laundered. I usually just hang things up between wears and that lets the garment air out sufficiently.
Anyway, I pulled this outfit together for St. Patrick’s Day and it consists of my Aran sweater, some navy corduroy pants, and my tweed cap.

The weather this week has been beautiful, minus Monday when it was drizzling a bit! Most of the week, though, has been sunny and warm, but still chilly enough at night to stall the arrival of springtime insects.
Around this time of year, I also always get anxious that I won’t be able to wear my thick sweaters for much longer so I like to wear them as much as possible while the thermometer is still cooperating.
For dinner on St. Patrick’s Day, my wife made an amazing corned beef with cabbage and potatoes. She also made colcannon which is one of my favorite dishes.

Next week’s forecast calls for snow, so maybe I’ll get to wear my heavy sweaters for longer than I originally thought!
Have a wonderful weekend!
