Outfit Of The Week 6/1/25 – 6/7/25

This week’s edition of “OOTW” turned out a little more “cowboy” than I expected.

Actually, I had no expectations whatsoever for this outfit. It was simply an outfit I put on to relax outside on the patio while my kids played in the yard this past weekend.
You’ll probably notice how heavily I am dressed in these pictures. It was a little chilly and windy that day so I wore a navy, wool shirt from Filson with a denim shirt under it.

My pants were an old pair of 5-pocket khakis (ripped knee and all) and you can see that I didn’t bother to swap out my slippers for a pair of more sensible “outdoor” shoes.

My hat was my well-worn Akubra Campdraft. I had been splitting wood earlier in the day while wearing it and just kept it on throughout the day.

You might also notice that I am wearing contact lenses. I haven’t worn contacts in years but decided to splurge on a six-month supply partly due to the fact that I melted the lenses in my old glasses from sitting too close to a campfire a couple months ago. Luckily I had already ordered a new pair of glasses when that happened, so I only had to deal with the damaged lenses for a week.
The contacts allow me to wear sunglasses as well as wear my no-fog safety glasses while I am chopping wood.
My kids still aren’t used to seeing me without glasses.
My favorite part of this outfit was the wool shirt. Ever since my wife bought it for me for Christmas, it has been one of my daily workhorses. I mostly use it as a light jacket, but I also lounge around the house in it. I was happy I was able to give it one last wear before the temperatures started to climb this week.

The next couple weeks’ outfits will likely lean a little smarter (and definitely warm-weather friendly).
Have a wonderful weekend!
