Outfit Of The Week 6/22/25 – 6/28/25

This week’s edition of “OOTW” consists of actually a handful of outfits I wore on a recent long weekend trip with the family.
We have made it a tradition around this time each year to get away for a few days and meet up with my wife’s sister and her husband/kids, my extended family, and old friends of ours from college.
It was a very busy weekend! We went hiking. We went to the zoo. We watched some racing. There were many playground and ice cream trips sprinkled throughout.
Oh, it was also pretty hot and rainy.
My outfit choices for the weekend reflected the need for utility above all else.
Each day I wore a pair of jeans (yes, I wore one pair of pants the whole weekend), my logger boots, and my tan Akubra Campdraft hat. Since I knew we would be walking a lot, I wanted sturdy supportive footwear. Since there was on-and-off rain, I wanted a hat that could withstand water (so, no Panama hat) while still providing adequate sun protection.

I swapped my shirts out each day and they were all variations of the same kind of shirt. They were short-sleeved, button-front, lightweight shirts in various patterns. I always like collared shirts in summer since I frequently turn the collar up to protect my neck from the sun (as you can see in some of the pictures).

In order to wear my logger boots, I needed to wear thicker-than-ideal socks for the weather, as my boots are a tad large (I am between sizes in this brand). I wasn’t quite sure if I would enjoy wearing them when it was hot out considering the socks came all the way up my calf. Happily, it wasn’t terrible, but they are definitely more of a cold-weather boot.
All in all, the trip was very enjoyable!
Have a wonderful weekend!
