Outfit Of The Week 2/9/25 – 2/15/25

This week’s edition of “OOTW” features another office ensemble. The highlight was a pair of trousers I haven’t worn in some time. I just got them back from the tailor and the waistband reduction she did is spot on.

These trousers are a shade lighter than a true charcoal grey that I find goes with pretty much everything. They’re full cut and have wonderful drape so I like to wear them with suspenders to take advantage of that.

The jacket was also one I hadn’t worn in a while. It’s a very dark navy with a burgundy check pattern (from Charles Tyrwhitt). Out of all my tailored clothes, I’ve gotten the most random compliments on this jacket.

Even though this jacket is patterned and has a rough texture, both of which would normally indicate that it’s fairly casual, I tend to find I usually wear it with smarter trousers, shoes, and often a tie. I think the very structured shoulders and the overall dark color give it an air of formality.

Considering I was wearing a dark jacket and dark-ish trousers, I opted to wear a white oxford shirt instead of a light blue one. I felt the contrast between the dark jacket and the white shirt looked nice. I also tend not to like wearing many patterns at once, which is why I opted for a solid-color shirt.

For my shoes, black would have been fine, but I opted for dark brown instead. I gave my shoes a good shine the day before, as they were desperately in need of it.

My outerwear consisted of my navy, double-breasted overcoat, my tweed cap, and my cashmere scarf.

I’ve been having a lot of fun wearing all the stuff I’ve gotten back from the tailor recently. It’s really amazing. It feels like I have a whole new wardrobe. I am looking forward to sharing more of those items with you in the coming weeks.
