Outfit Of The Week 3/2/25 – 3/8/25

This week’s edition of “OOTW” is a casual ensemble with some interesting layering.

The highlight of the outfit is the rugby shirt. My wife bought me this shirt a few years ago from J. Peterman, and I love it. The cotton is very thick and perfect for cold weather.

I know the phrase “effortless” is pretty well-worn when it comes to clothing, but I do feel the rugby shirt fits that description. It’s a really easy way to look put-together.

Also, rugby shirts are one of the five things women want to see you wearing!

If you’re thinking of a way to level-up a little, then a rugby shirt is a perfect start. As you can see, it looks great with jeans and boots, but it also works well with a pair of khaki pants and a pair of loafers for when you’re going into the office. And you don’t need to tuck it in, which is a plus for those of you who still feel a little self-conscious about that.

Over the rugby shirt, I layered a wool, Aran cardigan.

Usually, I wear my sweaters over oxford-shirts because the button-down collar holds up better, but the thick collar of the rugby shirt stood up just fine and didn’t collapse the way normal point-collars do when worn under a sweater or jacket. Because of that, a rugby shirt is an excellent layering piece.

Down below, I wore jeans and my Carolina loggers.

The temperature was pretty warm this week, so I didn’t really feel the need to wear a coat much, although it’s forecasted to get cold again over the weekend. I think this is probably the last hurrah for heavy, winter clothes before we get into more “transitional weather” outfits.

Have a wonderful weekend!
