Outfit Of The Week 6/15/25 – 6/21/25

As I promised last week, this week’s “OOTW” features what I wore on Father’s Day!

I hope everyone else had as nice a Father’s Day as I did.

I slept in. Had a decadent breakfast. I worked out. Wrote a little bit. My wife and I had our customary weekend lunch date. Then we had a lovely dinner after the kids went to bed.

For dinner, I decided to wear a navy, double-breasted blazer with a red-and-blue tie and white, French-cuff shirt. My trousers were lightweight, grey wool with a subtle herringbone pattern.

My shoes were burgundy loafers (slip-on shoes for at-home date nights are the best!).

I also wore silver-and-mother-of-pearl cufflinks.

I got this jacket some years ago from Charles Tyrwhitt.

I’ve come to appreciate it more and more each time I wear it. It’s quite thick and luxurious, but it’s wonderfully comfortable to wear even in the warm weather. There is ample drape and the shoulders are strong and manly, which was not the prevailing fashion when I bought it. Thankfully, more classic, structured silhouettes are becoming more common as they always look good!

I love the practicality of a double-breasted jacket, especially when at home. It keeps the tie in place and you don’t have to button and unbutton the jacket every time you get up and down.

Come to think of it… my tie and shirt are also from Charles Tyrwhitt. They have good deals and the quality is on par with the sale price of the items (never buy their stuff at full price).

This tie is one of my favorites because of how versatile it is. It’s dark red with small blue stripes. Since the pattern isn’t too busy, it makes the tie wearable with pretty much any shirt or jacket. And since the tie has a little bit of texture, it looks good with rougher, more casual clothes like tweed jackets. Oh, and red/blue combinations go with almost anything.

I never like to wear too many patterns (last week’s “OOTW” notwithstanding) so I went with plain white for both my shirt and pocket square. These cufflinks were a gift from my wife for our last anniversary and I think they are absolutely beautiful.

Like I said, I hope you all had a great Father’s Day, too!

Have a wonderful weekend!
