Outfit Of The Week 9/15/24 – 9/21/24

This week’s edition of “OOTW” marks one full year of this series! It’s really interesting looking back over a year’s worth of outfits. Lots of tweed in the winter. Lots of seersucker in the summer. Life is good.

This week’s outfit likely signifies the end of the “summery” outfits, as the temperature is forecasted to drop a bit over the next few days. Barring some sort of weird meteorological anomaly, I suspect it won’t get back up into the upper-70s again anytime soon.

This outfit was very simple. It consisted of a pink-and-white stripe polo shirt my wife got me as a gift a couple years ago, some inexpensive jeans from Dickie’s, and a pair of brown boots from L.L. Bean.

The day was warmer than I thought it would be so I didn’t need my Harrington jacket at all. For the past couple of weeks, I’ve worn a light jacket in the mornings while I drive my son to school. I didn’t need it today.

I think I chose this shirt specifically because I knew I probably wouldn’t wear it again until next year. It’s the only pink shirt I own (although I’m always looking for a pink OCBD) and I like how the white stripes soften the “pinkness” a little bit.

I wrote some time ago about how important it is for our kids, especially our sons, to see us wearing colors. It’s important that kids don’t have those weird stereotypes in their heads about the types of colors men can or should wear. It’s especially crucial if your sons are in elementary or middle school.

The day was lovely and I did my pull-ups in the park after I dropped my son off at school. Yes, I do pull-ups in jeans and boots, with my keys attached to my belt-loop.

Have a wonderful weekend!
