Outfit Of The Week 5/10/26 – 5/16/26

This week has been a crazy one!

My wife was on a work trip for part of the week. I took those days off so I could run errands while the boys were at school, but that meant that the rest of the work week was hectic.

For a very busy and rainy week, I decided to wear a flannel shirt (actually, the one I recently reviewed) and my Barbour jacket.

I have featured this jacket many times. It’s an excellent piece for transitional weather since it’s weather-proof and fairly light. It’s still warm when I need it to be, though, since it’s lined with wool. The huge pockets are also a big plus.

On the topic of waxed cotton jackets… I recently read a Reddit post about someone who re-waxes their jacket every year. Good grief. I’ve had this jacket for probably 7 years and have never felt the need to re-wax it. And I frequently wear it in cold, rainy weather. I just don’t get why people feel the need to baby their menswear. A well-made waxed jacket does not need to be re-waxed very often.

My headwear consisted of a wool-blend baseball cap from a brewery in upstate New York. I wear this hat on the days I go to the gym, since I use the hat to carry my keys, phone, and wallet with me as I go about my workout.

I’ve written before about the place that baseball caps occupy in a man’s wardrobe. They can be very handsome and functional when worn in the right circumstances.

Down below, I wore my jeans and logger boots.

This weekend seems to be the last true temperate few days before it starts to get really hot. Ugh. Well, at least the warm weather will encourage me to switch over my wardrobe for the new season. So, I guess that’s something to look forward to.

Have a wonderful weekend!
