Outfit Of The Week 5/31/26 – 6/6/26
Yes, I know that this week’s “OOTW” is a little bit later than usual. But it’s a good one, so the wait is worth it!
The reason for this week’s tardiness is because the outfit you see here is what I wore yesterday for my son’s end-of-school-year ceremony.
The event was outside under a tent at about 10:00am. The weather was warm, but not too hot, with a slight breeze. Honestly, it was lovely.
Before the ceremony, my wife and I took my in-laws out to breakfast.
For the day, I wanted to dress up a bit, but I always didn’t want to be too hot, considering everything was happening outside.
In light of that, I opted for a linen shirt with a button-down collar (so that the collar would stand up nicely under my jacket), a seersucker jacket (half of my seersucker suit), and khaki pants. Oh, I also wore my cheap sunglasses (that I love).

One notable aspect of my outfit is the fact that my shirt was short sleeves. I chose a short-sleeved shirt over a proper shirt because I wanted to stay as cool as possible. Wearing a short-sleeved shirt under a jacket is something I have relaxed about in my old age. I used to hate that look, but it’s hardly even noticeable.
As we bummed around town and got some lunch and ice cream after the ceremony, I donned my beat-up Panama hat to keep the sun off. My wife and I even got some very nice compliments from a group of young people!

All in all, I felt like my outfit was a great example of how to do “dressed up” in the summer without looking too fussy, or sweating to death.

The day was very nice and I am exceedingly proud of my son for all his hard work and perseverance.
Have a wonderful weekend!
