Outfit Of The Week 3/15/26 – 3/21/26

Like many of you, I have been working remotely since the start of the pandemic six years ago.

After a few years, my company implemented a policy that we all have to make an in-person office appearance once a month.

So, that’s what I do.

But going into the office so infrequently really drives home how much I absolutely HATE commuting.

I used to commute every single day. A little over 3 hours each day was eaten up by just getting to and from my job.

It was really weird when I abruptly stopped commuting. I ended up losing like 15 pounds! Part of that was because I was taking my oldest son out to play multiple times a day to get his energy out, but I think it was also because I didn’t have to put up with the stress of commuting any more.

Each time I have to commute now I’m like “Good grief, I hate this!”

Thankfully, it’s only infrequently now.

Anyway, I went into the city recently and decided to wear a SHOCKER of an outfit!… a tweed jacket, an oxford shirt, khaki pants, and brown shoes!

My outerwear was my double-breasted overcoat (which has probably seen its last outing of the year) and my tweed cap and plaid scarf.

This jacket was the one I wrote a review of a while back. I love how thick and sturdy it is. It feels like armor when I wear it. One reason I love wearing a sport coat is because I love stuffing the pockets will all sorts of unnecessary (TOTALLY necessary, you mean!) junk like my pocketknife and mustache comb.

I think Cary Grant once said not to stuff your pockets since it ruins how the tailoring looks, but I love classic jackets since I CAN stuff a bunch of crap in them.

Clothing should be functional after all!

My office day was largely uneventful. Want to know something funny? My internet speed in my house in the middle of the woods is literally 10x faster than when I am sitting in my office in the middle of NYC.

Anyway, that’s all for now. Have a wonderful weekend!
