Outfit Of The Week 7/27/25 – 8/2/25

We seem to have summited summer and are descending fairly rapidly toward fall. This past week was pretty hot, but this coming weekend is going to be in the 60s!

And I love it! As you guys know, during the summer, I am always biding my time until I can, once again, comfortably lounge by the fireplace in many layers of wool.

This week’s edition of “OOTW” is a simple outfit I wore on a recent family outing consisting of a local parade and playground and culminating in a stop at an ice-cream stand.

The warm temperatures and bright sun meant a linen shirt (one of the elements of the perfect summer uniform) and a wide-brimmed hat were in order.

Since I knew I’d be sitting in the grass for a while, I decided on a pair of jeans instead of lighter-colored chinos.

My shoes were my navy boat shoes, which were useful while walking on slippery rocks in the river next to the ice-cream stand.

I was surprised that I actually got a tiny bit of color on my chest where my shirt was open. I figured I had been outside enough this summer to keep that from happening. Luckily I had put some sunblock on my arms, although I think my freckles would have given me plenty of protection.

The day was long and hot. The boys enjoyed it, though. And I DID get a really tasty milkshake.

Have a wonderful weekend!
