Outfit Of The Week 8/3/25 – 8/9/25
This week’s edition of “OOTW” features an ensemble I wore to the dentist!

Upon seeing my outfit before I left the house, my mother-in-law (we were visiting my in-laws at the time) asked, “Why do you get dressed up to go to the dentist?”
I replied, “Because I like to.”
Sometimes we feel like we need reasons or external approval before we can dress the way we want. We feel like there needs to be some sort of justification.
And while I do believe that there needs to be authenticity when it comes to our clothing, I also feel that we can usually just wear whatever the hell we want.
In my case, putting on a sport coat to go to my dentist’s office in downtown Manhattan isn’t that weird.
Men who don’t wear sport coats are really missing out, by the way!
I LOVE wearing sport coats, not only because they look good, but because of how insanely functional they are. I was able to carry my phone, wallet, pocket knife, and a granola bar in the pockets of my jacket. I was also able to stick a twenty-ounce water bottle in there, too!

The sport coat in question is the blue checked jacket from Brooks Brothers you guys have seen a few times this summer already. I love the texture of this jacket. It’s a wool-silk-linen blend so the feel is a bit rough.

My shirt was a well-worn oxford button-down from Lands’ End. My pants and shoes were my usual warm-weather combo of “khakis-and-loafers”.
Per my dentist, my teeth are all still present and functional, thank goodness.
Have a wonderful weekend!
