Outfit Of The Week 4/13/25 – 4/19/25

This week, my wife and I celebrated the sixteenth anniversary of when we started dating!
As you all know, we take any and all opportunities to dress up and drink champagne and our date-iversary was as good a time as any!
To tell you the truth, I totally forgot about it until I walked into the house at the end of the day and saw my wife cooking dinner in a dress and heels. Now, before you chastise me for being a stereotypical, dopey, clueless husband who forgets important dates, know that this particular anniversary date isn’t one of the super-sacred celebration dates in our house, like birthdays and our wedding anniversary.
Some years I remember. Some years my wife remembers. Some years it comes and goes without either us even realizing it.
But once I realized what day it was, I eagerly threw on a jacket and tie to spend the rest of the evening (after the kids had gone to bed) relaxing in the living room and sipping good scotch.

The outfit I chose for this week’s edition of “OOTW” was comprised of pieces that I recently got back from the tailor.
My jacket was a blue, checked, wool-linen-silk sport coat from Brooks Brothers.

My wife bought me this jacket many years ago and I just now have gotten around to getting it tailored. It’s a lovely, warm-weather jacket as it’s lightweight and wears very cool.
The trousers were light grey wool with a very small herringbone pattern.

Like the sport coat, these pants are excellent for spring/summer given how light and flowy they are. The light grey goes great with pretty much everything, but looks best with blue jackets (either light blue or navy). I used burgundy suspenders to keep them in place.
For my socks, I chose some grey socks that are a surprisingly perfect match to the pants.

I usually don’t worry too much about matching my socks to my pants (since the rule is really about not drawing unwanted attention to your feet by wearing socks that are clashing or contrasting with your pants, NOT perfectly matching them) but this pair of socks matches these pants so exactly that I had to wear them.
My shirt was a white, French-cuff shirt from Charles Tyrwhitt. I wore a pair of cufflinks my wife bought me for our wedding anniversary back in January. They are silver links with mother-of-pearl and I absolutely love them.

To round out the outfit, I wore a burgundy, raw silk necktie from Poszetka. I have a number of ties from them and I really like them all. I really like how fat the knot gets with this tie. It almost feels like clay and is easy to shape to my preference.

All in all, the evening was an incredibly joyful celebration of sixteen fabulous years together!
Have a wonderful weekend!
