Outfit Of The Week 5/5/24 – 5/11/24

The outfit I’d like to highlight for this week’s edition of “OOTW” is a fairly simple one I threw together for a particularly warm day this week.

Amongst the rain and mid-50s temperatures, there have been a few pockets of sunshine and warmth, which meant that I could leave the jacket at home.

Even though outerwear wasn’t needed, I still don’t really go anywhere without a hat. Since a hat is also classified as a piece of outerwear, sometimes it can be difficult to figure out what kind of hat one should wear in the spring and summer.

Sure, a baseball cap works, but I know some guys don’t really like them. You also might be looking for a more stylish option you can wear with not only casual wear, but business casual ensembles, as well.

It’s in those kinds of situations that I wear my linen, checked cap from Stetson.

It’s a perfect warm-weather hat option that isn’t as hum-drum as a baseball cap but also isn’t as attention-grabbing as a Panama hat.

If I am running errands around town, or don’t necessarily need a ton of sun coverage, I will wear this cap.

I love that the linen lets breezes through! It’s delightful on really hot days.

If you’re looking to grab a similar one for yourself, remember that Stetsons, whether they’re caps or wide-brimmed hats, tend to run a little large.

Moving on down, I also wore a chambray shirt from Lands’ End. As you can plainly see from the pictures, I did not bother ironing it. That’s the beauty of these workwear-inspired pieces: you don’t really need to be precious about them.

I tucked the shirt into my Lands’ End khakis.

My footwear consisted of my burgundy L.L. Bean work boots.

Have a wonderful weekend and don’t forget that Sunday is Mother’s Day!
