Outfit Of The Week 7/20/25 – 7/26/25

This week’s edition of “OOTW” is another birthday celebration outfit of mine, continuing the trend from last week.

No, I didn’t spend a full week celebrating my birthday. The seersucker suit you saw last week was worn on a dinner-date at a restaurant with my wife a few days before my birthday (while my in-laws were watching the kids) and the outfit you see here was worn at home on the day of my actual birthday.

My wife and I love to do at-home dinner dates, as you guys are well aware of at this point. On days like these we always try to get the kids in bed early so we can have as much time to ourselves as we can.

My outfit consisted of my navy blazer from Brooks Brothers over a light blue, linen shirt from L.L. Bean. It was hot that night and my house doesn’t have air conditioning, so it was important to wear something breezy and cool.

My tie was a bow-tie with small blue pigs on it. I decided to wear a bow-tie because the shirt I was wearing actually doesn’t support a regular tie very well given its short collar points. With a bow-tie, however, the collar points sit comfortably behind the “wings” of the tie so that they aren’t visible.

My pants were khaki chinos from Lands’ End and my shoes were my burgundy Bass Weejuns. Slip-on shoes are always a good choice for at-home dates.

It was another fabulous evening with my beautiful wife! Oh, we also got a visit from some local wildlife. This guy was snuffling around our driveway before I encouraged him to move along.

Here’s to another great year!
