Outfit Of The Week 11/23/25 – 11/29/25

This week’s edition of “OOTW” is a little later than usual. But I am sure you guys understand.

This past week has been a whirlwind! We have been traveling almost every day since last Saturday visiting family in one capacity or another.

It has been very nice, but incredibly tiring. All I can say is, “God bless tablets-and-headphones for the kids on long drives!”

The outfit I would like to highlight this week was the one I wore to my sister’s house on Thanksgiving.

My sister and brother-in-law live only about two hours from me, so it has been our tradition over the past few years to have them host Thanksgiving. They then come over to our house on Christmas.

I’ve written before about why it’s important to have traditions around the holidays, so I’m thankful that we have been able to establish a tradition that involves extended family. My boys get so excited to visit their house and play with their cats!

My own Thanksgiving tradition is to wear my navy bulldog tie in honor of our beloved dog who passed away two years ago.

On Thursday, I wore the tie with a blue, oxford cloth, button-down shirt, a cream, cable-knit, shawl-collar cardigan, and a pair of navy chinos.

The cardigan was a gift from my wife over ten years ago. It’s from Brooks Brothers and is actually made of supima cotton instead of wool. I normally opt for wool everything, but this cardigan is supremely soft and warm.

I was originally thinking I would wear a sport coat, but I opted for the shawl-collar cardigan for a bit of a cozier vibe. After all, we all know that shawl-collar cardigans are a perfect cold-weather layer!

I’ve been getting a lot of use out of these navy chinos. I find they are a perfect replacement for jeans on casual days but they’re also excellent pants for wearing to nicer events that involve children since they are comfortable and hide stains well.

My footwear, once we arrived at my sister’s house, consisted of slippers as I didn’t want to wear “outside shoes” in my sister’s very nice, clean house.

Now that Thanksgiving and all our associated travels are over, I can actually sit back and relax for a couple days.

I hope you all had a beautiful holiday. Have a wonderful weekend!
