Outfit Of The Week 4/5/26 – 4/11/26
This week’s edition of “OOTW” features an outfit I wore briefly while attending my son’s school art show at a local library.
The weather has been beautiful this week. It’s that splendid time of year when all the snow has melted and it’s warm enough for the kids to play outside for hours without needing to bundle up… but there aren’t any bugs out yet!
I love this time of year.
While it has been relatively warm, there is still a bit of a chill in the air, especially in the shade or when the wind blows, so some form of outerwear is still required.
Enter my Schott Perfecto leather biker jacket. I haven’t been able to wear this jacket since the fall so I was excited to dust it off. I’ve had this jacket for a few years and I LOVE wearing it. Some guys think they can’t “pull off” something like a double rider, but it’s really not that hard. Just wear the thing.

I always say that I’d rather be remembered as the bold dad in the cool leather jacket than forgotten as the timid dad in the hoodie.
Obviously, this jacket reeks of coolness, but it’s also incredibly practical. I love all the zippered/buttoned pockets. I love that it falls at my waist which makes it comfortable to wear while driving. I love that it’s warm enough to protect from the wind (NOTHING blocks wind better than leather) but not so heavy that I overheat in this weird, unpredictable, transitional weather.
It’s really a perfect spring/fall jacket.
Under my jacket, I wore a red-and-black plaid flannel shirt.
Down below, I wore some faded blue jeans and my logger boots. Yes, my jacket is black and my boots are brown. The whole “match your leathers” thing isn’t nearly as rigid as everyone makes it out to be (especially when it comes to casual clothes).

To top everything off, I wore my wool/cashmere cap.

When many men think of classic menswear, they think of tailoring, like suits, ties, and sport coats. And that sometimes turns them off to classic menswear since they might not like that level of formality.
But jeans, boots, flannel shirts, and leather jackets are just as classic as tailoring. They’re just casual. But casual can be just as handsome, manly, timeless, and “put-together” as business casual or formal.
Enjoy the weekend. Next week will be a busy one… stay tuned!
