Outfit Of The Week 5/24/26 – 5/30/26

I hope everyone had a restful Memorial Day Weekend. Mine consisted mostly of playgrounds with the kids and lots of ice cream.

The highlight of the weekend was the belated Mother’s Day celebration my wife and I did together on Sunday. The outfit I wore for dinner on that day is this week’s “OOTW”.

On actual Mother’s Day a few weeks ago, we were traveling as a family back home from my in-laws’ house. We arrived mid-day so we weren’t really able to do a proper Mother’s Day celebration then. Instead of my wife missing out on a real Mother’s Day, we decided to reschedule it to this past Sunday.

I wrote before about how to crush Mother’s Day… let your wife sleep in, do all the cooking, entertain the kids, spend time with her. Put thought into it and plan the day.

Not rocket science.

This past Sunday, my wife slept in for a bit. Then we had a nice breakfast and then bummed around the house for a while before having one of our customary weekend lunch dates. After my wife spent some time working out and gardening, we fed the kids dinner and put them to bed a little early, which allowed us to have an at-home date night.

I have also laid out how to do great at-home dates with your wife in this article.

The dinner I had planned was super quick to whip up. My wife and I got dressed up, naturally.

Here is what I wore…

I wore my pinstripe, double-breasted suit from Brooks Brothers, a white French cuff shirt with mother-of-pearl cufflinks, and a light blue silk tie with a puppytooth pattern from Charles Tyrwhitt.

Double-breasted jackets are awesome for their practicality, especially when bustling around the kitchen, since your tie isn’t flapping around. They also make you look insanely V-shaped, which is great!

This tie is one of my favorites, as it ties a stellar, fat knot. It’s kind of shiny, so I only really wear it with more formal suits.

My cufflinks were a gift from my wife a while back. Cufflinks are one of the best gifts for a guy since you can make them personal and you don’t have to worry about fit.

My wife had had a really busy day on Saturday, so initially she wasn’t quite sure she wanted to go “all-out” on Sunday night (getting dressed up and having a big dinner). We decided to go for it and it turned out to be one of our most enjoyable at-home dates we’ve ever done!

Have a wonderful weekend!
