Outfit Of The Week 12/14/25 – 12/20/25

This week’s edition of “OOTW” features an outfit I wore on a lovely brunch date in celebration of my wife’s birthday.

Since her birthday fell in the middle of the week (and since the kids still have school), we decided to do a brunch date instead of a more traditional evening, out-of-the-house, restaurant date.

As we did last year, we ate at a lovely restaurant of a local hotel and then leisurely walked around town.

I wanted to wear something cozy and festive, so I chose a tweed jacket, wool tie, and thick, flannel trousers.

I reviewed this jacket some time ago. It’s one of my favorites, as it feels a bit like armor.

The tie is one I bought on a trip to Ireland a decade ago.

The pants are a wool and poly blend from The Territory Ahead. They are my go-to cold-weather pants since they are so warm.

My shirt was a yellow checked tattersall from Charles Tyrwhitt. This shirt is another excellent cold-weather piece since the brushed cotton is considerably thicker than a regular poplin or oxford.

My only nitpick with this outfit is that the pants don’t really offer much contrast with the jacket.

The jacket is brown and the trousers are grey, but that’s hard to discern at a distance. Up close, though, the similarity in color doesn’t matter much because the difference in texture is so apparent.

Oh well! Not a huge deal.

The day was fantastic! I couldn’t believe how stuff I was after a huge portion of eggs Benedict, fried potatoes, and a side order of Wagyu sausage.

This week is also the first of three weeks I have off from work. I always save up my PTO so that I can have a really long vacation this time of year.

The next couple of weeks will feature some really fun outfits so stay tuned!

Have a wonderful weekend!
