Outfit Of The Week 8/16/26 – 8/22/26
After a couple weeks of casual outfits, I have returned with some jacket-and-tie goodness for this week’s edition of “OOTW”.

The outfit you see here is another date-night ensemble. And yes, when my wife and I go out, we tend to go to the same places, which is why the backgrounds look similar to a handful of other OOTWs from this summer.

The reason this entry is special is because it’s the debut of a new jacket my wife got for me for my birthday last month that I just got tailored!

It’s a light blue, linen, double-breasted jacket from House of Bruar (the same place I got my tweed, 3-piece suit). Out of the box, the jacket fit great and the only thing I needed to get tailored was the sleeve length. Interestingly, since the sleeve buttons are functional (and the tailor didn’t want to adjust the sleeve at the shoulder since that would be expensive), the buttons now sit pretty close to the end of the sleeve. It’s so not a big deal. I saw a post on reddit recently and someone was lamenting the fact that their tailor did the same thing. People were positively howling about how the tailor was trash and they should demand their money back.
Good grief. It’s not a big deal. Just wear the jacket and enjoy your life.
Anyway, you guys know I love double-breasted jackets so I was thrilled when I received this jacket as a gift.

I think what I like so much about this jacket is how different it is from anything else I have. I also like having a selection of warm-weather jackets, since it’s hard to find a jacket that works well when it’s hot out.
In the pics you see here, I have a lot of stuff in my jacket pockets, which explains the bulging.
Along with the jacket, I wore tan, wool trousers, tan loafers, a white shirt with a small check pattern, a blue-and-white pocket square, and a burgundy necktie. I was thinking about wearing a bow-tie, but I went with the regular tie instead.

The night was very rainy, so umbrellas were needed. I also decided to wear a new cap (also a birthday gift). Even though it’s wool, it’s light enough to be worn this time of year. It’s a lovely green-and-blue check pattern.

Another amazingly enjoyable night out with my beautiful wife!
Have a wonderful weekend!
