Outfit Of The Week 9/28/25 – 10/4/25
This week’s “OOTW” features an outfit I wore into the office recently.
The weather wasn’t quite “tweed” weather, but I decided that wearing one wouldn’t be totally uncalled for, since it was about 60 degrees during my morning commute.
This particular jacket is good for these weird in-between-temperature days. It’s not super thick and it doesn’t have a lining, which means it wears a little cooler than my other tweeds.

I got the jacket many years ago from Charles Tyrwhitt. It’s a slim fit but doesn’t really fit like one (which I like). It’s actually a size 44 and I usually take either a 42 or 43, so there is a little bit more room in the shoulders and chest which makes this jacket very comfortable. Even though the shoulder measurement is a little larger than I normally go, the shoulders don’t appear too big. This might be, in part, because the tweed fabric is thicker than, say, the worsted wool of a regular suit, so the shoulders of this jacket keep their shape a little bit more easily even if the shoulders are a little extended. Sometimes, if a jacket’s shoulders are a little wide, they can collapse a bit at the point where they overtake the wearer’s natural shoulders. That doesn’t happen with this jacket.
The pattern is a small houndstooth. The color is predominantly brown, although there is a nice burgundy overcheck that’s more visible if the light hits it just right.
One small detail of this jacket that I really like (that I forgot to get a picture of) is the ticket pocket. Basically, a ticket pocket is a small, additional pocket that sits above the hip pocket on the wearer’s right side. I love wearing sport coats because of all the pockets for storing stuff so having yet ANOTHER pocket is fantastic!
The shirt I wore was a blue and white striped oxford shirt from Brooks Brothers. Since my shirt and jacket were patterned, I decided to wear a plain, white pocket square since I never really like combining too many patterns in one outfit.
My pants were my well-worn Lands’ End khakis and my shoes were my burgundy, Becket Simonon Dunham Derbies (which only get more and more comfortable as the years go on).

Considering the day’s temperature climbed to the upper 70s by mid-afternoon, I felt the need to remove my jacket while in the office. I am looking forward to the colder months when I can wear my awesome menswear throughout the day!
Have a wonderful weekend!
